• Expertise descriptions: The text you enter describing your professional expertise, which we use to generate AI skills.
• Email address: If you optionally provide your email (e.g., for updates or to associate with a skill).
• Account information: If you create an account, we collect your name and email through our authentication provider (Clerk).

Information collected automatically

• Rate-limiting identifier: We set a cookie containing a random identifier to enforce usage limits. This cookie does not track you across other websites.
• Usage analytics: We use Google Tag Manager to collect aggregated, anonymous usage data such as page views and feature usage.
• Server logs: Standard server logs that may include your IP address, browser type, and request timestamps.

Information collected by the Chrome extension

• Page content: When you actively use the extension to generate a skill from a webpage, we extract text content from that page. This only happens when you initiate the action.
• Selected text: Text you highlight and choose to convert into a skill via the right-click menu.
• Page URL and title: The URL and title of the page you generate a skill from, stored alongside the skill for context.
• Client ID: A random identifier stored locally in your browser for rate limiting. This never leaves your device except as an anonymous request header.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the Service: We process your expertise descriptions through AI to generate, grade, and improve skills.
• To enable sharing: When you share a skill, it becomes accessible via a unique public URL.
• To enforce usage limits: We use cookies and identifiers to prevent abuse and ensure fair usage.
• To improve the Service: We use aggregated, anonymous usage data to understand how the Service is used and make improvements.
• To communicate with you: If you provide your email, we may send you updates about the Service. You can unsubscribe at any time.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Skill This:

• Anthropic (Claude API): Your expertise text is sent to Anthropic's API to generate and grade skills. Anthropic's use of this data is governed by their privacy policy.
• Supabase: Our database provider, used to store skills and associated data.
• Clerk: Our authentication provider, used if you create an account.
• Google Tag Manager: Used for anonymous, aggregated analytics.

5. Cookies

We use a single functional cookie (__rl) containing a random identifier for rate limiting. This cookie expires after one year. Google Tag Manager may also set cookies for analytics purposes. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect the functionality of the Service.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the third-party service providers listed above, and only as necessary to operate the Service. If you choose to share a skill, the skill content (but not your email or account information) becomes publicly accessible via its unique URL.

7. Data Retention

Skills and associated data are stored indefinitely. If you would like your data deleted, contact us at privacy@skillthis.ai and we will process your request within 30 days.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure infrastructure, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Children's Privacy

Skill This is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
