Creating Product Shot Briefs
Quick Start12 / 15
Given messy scraped data like search results or product listings, extract structured product entries:
Product: Spooky Halloween Downloadable PDF Pattern
Brand: Bunny Hill Designs
Price: $39.95
Category: Quilt Pattern (Digital/PDF)
Shot Type: Isolated product flat-lay or styled pattern cover
Repeat for each distinct product found, deduplicating repeated listings and stripping social media noise (Instagram/Facebook captions, repeated boilerplate).

Quick Start shows only one extracted field block without demonstrating the deduplication/classification steps that are central to the workflow—add a slightly more complete end-to-end mini example
Workflow13 / 15
Progress:
- Step 1: Scan raw data and identify genuine product/listing entries vs. noise (social captions, repeated blog links, navigation cruft)
- Step 2: Deduplicate — the same product often appears many times across a scrape
- Step 3: Extract structured fields per product: name, brand/seller, price (if present), product type/category, source
- Step 4: Group into categories (e.g., Quilt Kits, Patterns/PDFs, Panels, Tools/Templates, Mini Quilts)
- Step 5: Flag which entries have commercial data (price, seller) vs. editorial/blog-only mentions
- Step 6: Produce an isolated product shot brief for each priced/sellable item — background (white/transparent), angle, styling notes, and any seasonal props implied by the listing (e.g., Halloween motifs: pumpkins, ghosts, spiders)
- Step 7: Output final clean table/list, separating "Products for photography" from "Reference/inspiration content"
Recommendation▾
The skill is fairly narrow (seems tailored to a quilt/Halloween dataset)—generalize examples to show it works across different product domains (electronics, apparel) to prove broader applicability
Examples16 / 20
Example 1:
Input: HALLOWEEN SPOOK Quilt Kit featuring the Fear Factory Collection — All Things Quilty · $90.99
Output:
Name: HALLOWEEN SPOOK Quilt Kit (Fear Factory Collection)
Seller: All Things Quilty
Price: $90.99
Type: Quilt Kit
Shot Brief: Isolated product shot, folded kit box/bundle on white background,
show fabric collection swatches fanned beside it, top-down or 3/4 angle,
soft diffused lighting to show fabric print detail.
Example 2:
Input: This is hands-down the silliest (and most fun!) Halloween quilt ever 🎃 ... delivered to you in a cute little box each month — Facebook
Output:
Classification: Editorial/social content, NOT a sellable product listing.
Action: Exclude from product catalog; optionally log as inspiration/lead
for a "box club" subscription product category.
Example 3: Input: Multiple repeated entries for "Spooky Over and Under Quilt Kit - Halloween Quilt Kit – Block Party Quilt Co" appearing 5+ times Output:
Name: Spooky Over and Under Quilt Kit
Seller: Block Party Quilt Co
Price: Not listed (needs lookup)
Type: Quilt Kit
Note: Deduplicated from 5 duplicate scrape entries.

Add guidance on output format options (CSV, JSON, markdown table) since 'final clean table/list' is mentioned but never demonstrated in full table form
Best Practices
- Treat price + seller name as the strongest signal of a real product listing
- Social captions (Instagram/Facebook) repeating identical text are almost always noise — collapse them into a single "social mention" note, don't treat as separate products
- Use "Related searches" blocks only to suggest additional product categories to search for, not as products themselves
- When price is missing, mark it clearly as "Price: TBD" rather than omitting the field
- Group isolated shot briefs by product type since styling conventions differ (flat PDF pattern vs. physical kit vs. mini quilt vs. tool/template)
Common Pitfalls
- Don't count the same product twice just because it appeared under different surrounding text
- Don't treat blog roundup titles ("40 Free Halloween Quilt Patterns to Sew") as individual products — they're aggregator content
- Don't fabricate prices or specs not present in the source data
- Don't merge visually distinct products just because they share a seller or season theme
